Set your mood: diy essential oils recipes

 The practice of aromatherapy uses the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves and roots of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being. A wide variety of essential oils with diverse effects lets you choose whether you want a calming atmosphere to relax from a stressful day, an energizing one to help you get things done, or a romantic one to share with a lover. Here’s a list of oils and my favorite recipes to suit your every mood:

 

 

Balancing:

Keep your poise and gracefully cope with life with stability and harmony with these balancing oils:

Rose Absolute, Geranium, Clary Sage

DIY Luxurious Bath oil:

Ingredients:

4 ounces grapeseed oil

9 drops geranium oil

9 drops lavender oil

6 drops lemongrass oil
rose petals (optional)
Directions:
Combine oils in bottle. Use 2-3 tablespoons in bath or apply to damp skin after showering. Take your time and luxuriate.

 

Energizing:

Need a quick pick me up to invigorate and revitalize you physically and mentally? Try these energizing blends:

Peppermint, Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit

DIY: Energizing Mist 

Ingredients:

4 ounces water

 Spray bottle
8 drops lemon oil
8 drops peppermint oil
5 drops rosemary oil
Directions:
Combine water and oils in spray bottle. Shake well and use as an air freshener, exercise equipment purifier or spray into workout towel.

 

 

Meditation:

Get centered and focused thought, inner strength, confidence and awareness with the following oils: Sandalwood, Frankincense, Myrrh, Atlas Cedar

DIY: Meditation Soak

Ingredients:

20 drops of sandalwood essential oil

6 drops of frankincense essential oil

6 drops of orange essential oil

3.4 cup dead sea salts

Directions:

Steep a hot bath, combine oils and sea salts, close your eyes and unwind.

 

 

Passion:

Make your next romantic encounter even more profound with these sensual oils:

Jasmine, Rose Absolute, Patchouli, Ylang Ylang

DIY: Sensual Massage Oil

Ingredients:

8 drops Sandalwood essential oil

3 drops Orange essential oil

2 drops Patchouli essential oil

1 drop Ylang Ylang essential oil

1 drop Ginger essential oil

1/4 cup of apricot kernel oil

Directions:
Combine ingredients and let blend for 24hrs. Store in a dark, cool place and enjoy within 3 months.

 

 

Purifying:

Refresh, revitalize and feel pure again with the help of :

Tea tree, Eucalyptus

DIY: Purifying Foot Soak

Ingredients:

3 drops of peppermint essential oil

1 drop of eucalyptus essential oil and 1 drop of lemon essential oil

1/4 cup of Epson Salt

Directions:
Boil water, add oils, immerse feet, exhale.

 

 

 

 

Relaxing:

Take a little time to relax and calm yourself with these soothing essential oils:

Lavender, Chamomille, Sweet Marjoram

DIY: Sweet dreams Linen Spray

Ingredients:

2 cups distilled water

6 drops lavender essential oil

2 drops chamomile essential oil

2 drops orange essential oil

2 drops ylang yang essential oil

Directions:

Shake before using, spray on bedding, enjoy sweet, sweet dreams
